Reporting to the COO and working with the Senior Management Team, the Technical Director will lead the Technical function, globally to include: the technical, reliability and inventory standards, warranty management, aircraft maintenance, and asset health monitoring requirements. This is a highly commercial role combining strategic development of customer relationships, supporting new business sales, using technical predictions and aircraft technological advancement to develop innovative commercial proposals.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of customer requirements, conceptual design and specification of customized service solutions and modelling/costing/pricing of financial business cases
  • Interface with strategic planning and commercial department to achieve business goals
  • Ensure that technical standards and best practices are maintained across the organization
  • Deliver technical audits, reliability enhancements and conduct commercial and marketing visits for new and existing accounts
  • Act as technical lead on contract/tender proposals
  • Establish a customer service and support process with responsibility for Technical Services
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development
  • Give advice and guidance on aircraft teardown activities and end-of-lease management reconciliations
  • Develop, track, and control the development and deployment of annual operating and capital budgets for your department
  • Establish standards of performance and monitor team (through performance review).

 

You will already have:

  • Airline Technical post-holder responsibility
  • Significant experience at senior level
  • Experience of Maintenance Repair Operation
  • EASA Part 66 licence holder would be preferred
  • Commercial acumen & strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Demonstrable ability to envision services that meet consumer needs or solve business problems
  • Proven leadership ability and excellent people management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
